The short answer

Prepare the details provided by your bank for the account and currency that will receive the funds. For SEPA, payment is in euros: an account located in Switzerland does not turn this payment into a CHF transfer. Only the options actually offered in the calculator can be selected.

01

Start from the account that should receive the funds

Identify the country and currency of the recipient account before choosing your payout method. The options offered depend on this combination and their availability. Check with your institution that the details you have are suitable for the type of transfer chosen, especially if the account has multiple currencies.

Choose payment based on the account, not just the country
Your needThe point to examineNot to assume
Receive euros by SEPAAn account compatible with SEPA transfers in EUR and a journey offered by the service. The presence of an IBAN alone does not prove the compatibility of the transaction.
Receive by SEPA InstantThe availability of the option and the compatibility of the bank payout. The bank transfer time does not cover crypto confirmations or manual processing.
Receive another currencyThe account currency and a payout method actually available for this combination.SEPA is not a CHF payment; a bank may apply its own currency conversion.
02

Use a reliable source for details

Take the information directly from your bank's online space or an up-to-date bank document. Depending on the method chosen, the form may ask for the account holder, an IBAN, a BIC or SWIFT, an account number and other local identifiers. Prepare the items actually requested without substituting one identifier for another.

  • Account holder name as it appears on the account.
  • Bank identifier requested for the payout method.
  • Currency and country corresponding to the relevant account.
03

Review the summary before creation

A format check can catch some input errors, but it does not prove that the account exists or that it belongs to the correct beneficiary. Compare each piece of information with the source document and re-read the currency and the net amount. Perform this verification before confirming, when correction remains simple.

04

Track the payment with precise information

After acceptance of the deposit, the payment goes through manual processing. When it is recorded, note its reference, the amount and the date displayed, then verify the destination account. If you notice an error in the details or a lack of receipt, use these elements and the exchange reference to clearly describe your request.

Points to check

  • The country, currency and account holder match the recipient account.
  • The details come from my banking space or an up-to-date document.
  • I have checked the receiving conditions, including any fees and currency conversions.

Questions about this guide

Does a Swiss IBAN mean I will receive Swiss francs?

Not necessarily. The country of the IBAN, the account currency and the payment currency are different pieces of information. SEPA concerns euros. Check with the bank which account to use and any possible conversion; do not assume that a CHF route is open on ClearFiat.

Does SEPA Instant mean my crypto sale takes a few seconds?

No. The instant bank transfer does not start when you send your cryptos. The deposit, its confirmations, checks and manual processing precede the payment in this journey.

Can I correct my details after sending the cryptos?

Do not assume a late correction is possible. Consult the exchange and contact methods to report the error with its reference. Do not open a second exchange and do not send new funds to replace the first.
