Privacy
Cookies and trackers.
The cookies set by ClearFiat, their purpose, their duration and the reason why no consent is required from you. You will also find what your browser stores outside cookies, how to delete everything and what would change if an audience measurement tool were added.
ClearFiat places at most 2 cookies, each only when it becomes necessary, and the network that serves the pages may add a technical security cookie. No audience measurement, no advertising, no third-party cookies: no consent is required and no banner is displayed.
The cookies set by this site
ClearFiat places at most 2 cookies, both from its own domain. One appears only if you log in to your account, the other only if you choose a language in the selector: a visitor who does neither receives none. No other application cookie is used, either for measuring the audience or for advertising. The network that serves the pages may add a strictly technical cookie, described below.
- clearfiat_session: maintaining your authenticated session.
- clearfiat_lang: storing the display language.
The session cookie
This cookie is set when you log in to your account. It enables the server to recognise your session when you open a private page. It contains a session identifier and a random secret, of which the server retains only a fingerprint, never the plaintext value. It cannot be read by page scripts and is only sent to this site. It is removed as soon as you log out, and it expires automatically after its maximum duration.
- Name: clearfiat_session, served over HTTPS with the __Host- prefix, which restricts it to this domain only.
- Purpose: authentication and session security.
- Maximum duration: 12 hours.
- Attributes: HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure, Path=/.
- Issuer: ClearFiat. Internal cookie, never shared.
The language cookie
This cookie is only placed if you choose a language in the site's selector. It contains a single value: the code of the selected language. It contains no identifier, no browsing history, and no data that can be linked to a person. It prevents the language from being renegotiated on each visit based on your browser settings. As the site is published in 15 languages, this storage is useful from the 2e page viewed.
- Name: clearfiat_lang.
- Purpose: storing the display language.
- Duration: 12 months.
- Content: the language code, and nothing else.
- Attributes: SameSite=Lax, Path=/.
- Issuer: ClearFiat. Internal cookie.
Why no banner is displayed
Prior consent is only required for trackers that are not strictly necessary for the requested service. Article 82 of the amended Act of 6 January 1978 excludes this requirement for trackers essential to the provision of an online communication service expressly requested by the user. The National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties classifies in this category authentication trackers, including those that secure the login mechanism, as well as interface personalisation trackers such as language choice. Our 2 cookies fall exactly within these 2 cases. A banner would therefore be misleading: it would offer you a refusal that would prevent you from logging into your account, and would suggest that this site places trackers that it does not use. As no consent is collected, no proof of consent is retained.
What this site does not set
The absence of a banner is not an oversight, but the result of a deliberately minimal technical choice. No audience measurement tool is installed and no advertising network is involved. No script is loaded from a domain other than that of the site. You are not tracked from one site to another by any device, and no browsing data is transferred or resold. You can verify this yourself by inspecting the cookies and requests from the domain in your browser.
- No audience measurement or statistical analysis cookie.
- No advertising or retargeting cookie.
- No social network button, no embedded video or map.
- No font or resource loaded from a third-party domain.
- No cookie placed by a partner or advertiser.
Site delivery
The site is served from an origin server located in Europe, behind a content delivery network. This network ensures the availability of the pages and protects the service against automated requests. In this capacity, it may place on the domain a strictly technical cookie, unrelated to any audience measurement or advertising, the duration of which is set by that provider and not by ClearFiat. Such a cookie falls under the same consent exemption, on the grounds of service security. The providers concerned are named in the legal notice, and the above inventory is corrected as soon as an additional cookie is detected on the domain.
What your browser stores outside of cookies
Your browser stores 2 items of information locally, without transmitting them to the server as a cookie. One is the regional format used for displaying amounts and dates. The other is a technical key that identifies the exchange you are preparing, so that reloading the page does not create a second order. The message you write on the Contact page is neither stored nor transmitted by the form: it remains in memory on the page for as long as you do not leave it. These records are subject to the same rules as cookies, which govern any writing to your terminal device, whether or not it relates to personal data. Deleting the site data from your browser removes them.
Deleting or blocking these cookies
You retain control over these 2 cookies. The logout button ends your session and removes the corresponding cookie. Your browser settings allow you to delete cookies from this domain or to block them in advance. Blocking has direct consequences, since these cookies are necessary for the service to function.
- Consulting the public pages remains possible without any cookie.
- Without the session cookie, logging into your account is impossible.
- Deleting the session cookie logs you out immediately.
- Without the language cookie, the language is renegotiated on each visit based on the browser settings.
- Private browsing clears these cookies when the window is closed.
Legal basis and protection of your data
The language cookie does not contain any personal data. The session cookie, however, is linked to an account identified by an email address: the data it allows to be processed falls under the General Data Protection Regulation. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of the service you request, and not your consent, on which no cookie-related processing relies here. The privacy policy specifies the purposes, recipients, retention periods, transfers and your rights, as well as the supervisory authority with which you may lodge a complaint. The data controller is the operator identified in the legal notice.
If an audience measurement tool were added
No such tool is currently in place. Adding it would bring the site within the prior consent regime, unless the strict conditions laid down by the French Data Protection Authority for exempt audience measurement are met: statistics limited to this site only, no transmission to third parties, no tracking from one site to another. The same question would arise for any element loaded from an external domain, whether a video, a map, a font or a messaging module. An anti-bot device would remain exempt as long as it served solely to secure the site, but would require consent if its provider reused the data collected for its own purposes. In all other cases, a consent collection mechanism would be put in place before any deposit, and this page would be updated and dated before the tool is put into service.
- No deposit or reading before an explicit choice on your part.
- A separate choice for each purpose, with no pre-ticked boxes.
- Refusing as simple as accepting, in the same number of actions.
- Your refusal stored, so as not to prompt you on each visit.
- Permanent access to modify or withdraw your choice.
Updating this page
This page describes the state of the site as at 7 September 2026. It is reviewed each time a tracker is added or removed, including where that tracker is exempt from consent. It is published in the 15 languages of the site: the French version is the source version and prevails in the event of any discrepancy. For any question about cookies, write to the contact address published in the legal notices.
