Amount guide
Read a quote and understand what you will receive
Distinguish the rate used, fees, net amount and deadlines that frame the creation of an exchange.
The short answer
To read a quote, start from the gross value, subtract service fees and identify any external fees. The net conversion amount is not a guarantee of the amount finally credited by your bank. Also check the currency, price source and expiry.
Put the rate in context
The displayed rate corresponds to your asset and your receiving currency at the time of the request. The service requires recent and consistent observations from CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko before using their average. A value seen elsewhere, at another time, or in another currency may therefore differ.
Separate converted value, fees and net amount
Read the amounts in order: the gross value represents your crypto before service fees; the fees indicate what is deducted; the net conversion amount corresponds to the gross minus these fees. Bank, correspondent or exchange fees may then apply to the receipt. The net therefore does not guarantee the amount finally credited to the account.
- Converted value: basis for calculation before fees.
- Service fees: amount deducted in the quote.
- Net conversion amount: gross value minus service fees, before any external fees.
| Line to read | What it represents | What remains distinct |
|---|---|---|
| Gross value | The quantity of crypto multiplied by the retained rate, rounded to the currency's precision. | This is not yet the net conversion amount. |
| Service fees | The higher of the calculated proportional fee and the applicable minimum. | These two amounts are not added together. |
| Net conversion amount | The gross value minus the service fees. | Bank, correspondent, or exchange fees may still apply to the receipt. |
| Crypto sending fees | The cost shown by the wallet or platform to transfer the funds. | It is necessary to check whether it is added to the debit or deducted from the sent amount. |
Consider your wallet's fees
The sending fees presented by your wallet or platform are separate from the service fees. Check whether your tool adds them to the debited amount or deducts them from the transfer. The deposit received must exactly match the exchange instructions; an amount difference may lead to a manual review.
Distinguish quote validity and deposit window
The 120 seconds concern the use of the quote to create an exchange. After its creation, the tracking page displays a separate deposit window. Read its deadline before sending and keep the reference obtained. An expired quote does not justify replacing an exchange whose deposit has already been sent.
Points to check
- I compare values in the same currency and at a similar time.
- I have distinguished service fees from those of my wallet and bank.
- The quote is still usable and I have not already sent funds for another exchange.
Questions about this guide
Why does a converter show more than my sale quote?
The converter shows an indicative value before fees. The quotation applies the service fees, depends on the operation choices and may retain a rate observed at another time. Compare the same quantity, the same currency and the timestamps.
Are minimum fees added to the percentage?
In ClearFiat's current method, no: the fees retained are the higher of the calculated proportional fees and the minimum applicable to the currency. The schedule displays the current values and the quote provides the calculated amount for your request.
Does an expired quotation change the instructions of an already created exchange?
The validity of the quote and the deposit window are distinct. For an existing exchange, check its own status and deadline. If you have already sent the funds, do not recreate an operation and do not resend the amount to resolve a screen expiration.
